Based in NYC. IN EUROPE OFTEN.
Built on a lifetime of looking.
Where a family legacy meets a collection worth sharing.
Eyewear is not just what I do. It is how I was raised. My dad has spent four decades in eyewear, and my aunt has run a beloved vintage eyewear shop in the heart of Budapest for years. I grew up surrounded by frames, by the language of craft, and by people who could tell the difference between something made well and something made to last.
I followed that path into design myself. Working in the industry firsthand gave me something no amount of collecting can teach: an understanding of how frames are actually built, what separates a considered design from a careless one, and why certain pieces from certain eras simply cannot be replicated today.
That knowledge is the foundation of everything at Optical Illusion. Every frame in this collection has been chosen with a designer's eye and a collector's instinct.
These pieces deserve to be worn.
A collection kept in boxes serves no one. These frames were designed to live on a face, to complete a look, to outlast everything around them.
Optical Illusion exists to connect these pieces with people who appreciate them as much as we do. Every listing includes honest detail about era, condition, and construction, because informed buyers make the best owners.
